Monifieth Athletic FC have been actively investigating how to improve the facilities at Riverview Pitches and fundraising for this purpose.

As part of this work, the Club has made a Community Asset Transfer request to Angus Council to extend our lease on the pitches to 99 years and also to purchase the current pavilion building. I am delighted to say our initial request has been accepted by Angus Council as a valid CAT application and we now progress to the next stage We have not been granted the Asset Transfer.

The next stage includes a public consultation period starting today and ending on 7th February 2018, and there will be notices at the pitches shortly in this regard. If you would like to view the application in full and comment to the Council , this will direct you to the correct website: https://www.tellmescotland.gov.uk/notices/angus/

Any support or other comments are welcome and should be directed to CommAssetTransfer@angus.gov.uk

Although this is only the first step, it is exciting opportunity to provide a lasting and sustainable community facility providing sporting opportunities for the growing population of Monifieth and the surrounding area, building on the work done by the Club’s volunteers, committee members and supporters over many years.
