Talented young footballers at Monifieth Athletic FC have received a welcome boost from Miller Homes, as the leading housebuilder announces sponsorship of the team for a second year running.

Angus-based Monifieth Athletic FC is a youth football club with teams competing in age groups from under 9’s to under 19’s. The club also runs a coaching school for young primary school children, and is in the midst of setting up Monifieth Athletic FC Soccer School for children aged 9 to 12.

Miller Homes first sponsored the team in 2016 to coincide with the opening of its new show home at the Ashludie Grange development in Monifieth. This year, Miller Homes will support the 2005 team who are transitioning from a 7 a-side to 11 a-side team.

Richard Heggie, coach at Monifieth Athletic FC, said: “Having Miller Homes on board as a continued supporter has allowed us to look forward and think about how we can improve our club with equipment and facilities.

In the last year Monifieth Athletic FC has become a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and also been awarded Development Club Status by the SFA. This allows our talented players, parents, coaches and volunteers to take pride in the improvements being made. None of this would be possible without sponsorship we receive from companies like Miller Homes, and we are truly grateful for the continued support.”

Neil Gaffney, Area Sales and Marketing Director at Miller Homes, Scotland, said: “Monifieth Athletic are an integral part of the local community and we are delighted to be able to support them for a second year running. The coaching team do brilliant work nurturing and developing the next generation of footballing talent and we’re excited to see how they do this season.”

Miller Homes’ Ashludie Grange offers a stunning selection of three, four and five bedroom homes at the beautifully landscaped development. Just a short drive from the vibrant city of Dundee, and with Part Exchange available on a number of properties, the coastal development is an excellent place to call home.
