MAFC 2003

The MAFC 2003 squad is talented, hard-working and enthusiastic and the coaching philosophy is that success is measured in terms of improvements in players’ technical ability, tactical awareness and self-motivation to be the best they can be. The modern-day game continues to get quicker and the coaches encourage the players on match days to express themselves on the park and aim to play attractive attacking football.

A trip to the Gothia Cup in Sweden in 2017 enabled the boys to compete against teams from across the world including Sweden, USA, Hong Kong, Cambodia and Portugal and since then, MAFC 2003’s have gone on to win 5 trophies in two seasons in 2017-18 (League Winners, Jean-Pierre Babin Cup Winners and Tommy Clark Trophy Winners) and 2018-19 (East Region Cup winners and John Clark Cup Winners).

The team also went the entire 2018-19 league campaign unbeaten, with two cup defeats being their only reverses. Whilst the 2019-20 season was curtailed due to COVID-19, the squad are now stepping up from u’17s to the u’19 league in 2020-21 and are looking forward to further challenges over the next two years’ as they progress towards participating in the Men’s game.

The MAFC 2003 coaches would like to thank everyone who has helped with coaching, match day duties, match day hospitality, transport and sponsorship over the years – so much effort has been put in to create a great environment for the boys to develop. Special thanks to our 2019-20 and 2020-21 sponsors, WRB Fire and Security for their generous support of the team.
